10 November Atatürk Commemoration Day Events Held at Our University
10 November Atatürk Commemoration Day activities were held at Uşak University. The first event was held in front of the Atatürk Monument on the occasion of November 10, Atatürk Commemoration Day. The Wreath Laying Ceremony was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş and Prof. Dr. İdris Kabalcı, academic and administrative staff and students. The ceremony, which started with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş laying a wreath at the Atatürk Monument, ended with a moment of silence and the singing of our National Anthem.


After the ceremony, in the Mustafa Kemal Pasha Amphitheater, the conference titled “Understanding Atatürk from the 21st Century” was held by Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History Research, Application Center and the History Club.
The conference was attended by Vice Rector Kenan Taş, Prof. Dr. Filiz Çolak as a Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center Director, Prof. Dr. Selma Ünlü Yel from Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty, academicians, administrative staff and students.


In his opening speech, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş stated that they commemorated Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with love, respect and gratitude on the 84th anniversary of his passing, and thanked the participants for their interest in the conference.

After the speech of the event, the music concert named "Atatürk Songs" was held by the Uşak University Dance Event and Music Ensemble (USDEM).

After the concert, Gazi University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Selma Ünlü Yel made a presentation on “Understanding Atatürk from the 21st Century”. Prof. Dr. Ünlü Yel mentioned that Atatürk was a forward-thinking and visionary leader In her speech. Noting the importance of understanding Atatürk correctly in the 21st century we are in, Ünlü Yel answered the questions at the end of his speech.
At the end of the conference, Prof. Dr. Selma Ünlü Yel, thanked for her speech, was awarded a plaque by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Tas on behalf of our university and Prof. Dr. Filiz Çolak presented a certificate of appreciation.
